Fishing Policies

INSHORE FISHING:

Included: Licensed and insured guides, rods and reels, tackle, dead bait, fuel, ice for lunch and drinks, fish cleaning, and an onboard ice chest.

Not Included: Fishing license ($20 per angler), live bait (average daily cost $75.00), lunch and beverages, packaging and shipping, and gratuities.

Note: Any equipment damaged due to careless or neglectful actions will be subject to charges at fair market value.

Fishing excursions will be postponed during periods of fog to prioritise safety. Departure will occur only when conditions are deemed safe, with time on the water extended accordingly.

INSHORE CHARTERS TYPICALLY LAST 6–7 HOURS

TARPON & TOURNAMENT TRIPS: Additional fuel charges apply.

Snapper trips with standard inshore fishing incur an extra charge of $100–$200 per person. Snapper season and weather may affect availability.

If you choose Venice Marina fish cleaning and shipping services, you do so at your own risk. REO is not liable for lost, damaged, or problematic items. The shipping service is very expensive.

OFFSHORE FISHING:

Included: The trip provides licensed and insured guides, rods and reels, tackle, bait, fish cleaning, ice for drinks and your catch, and an on-board ice chest.

Not Included: Fuel (unless you selected a flat rate trip), fishing license ($20 per angler), packaging and shipping, lunch and drinks, and tips are not provided.

NOTE: If equipment is broken due to careless or negligent behavior, you will be charged the fair market value for replacement.

Offshore charters typically last 10–12 hours.

Please note: Fuel cost is estimated and may vary based on target location and current fuel prices.

NOTE: For any charter with Paradise Outfitters, you must bring your own ice chest, loaded and ready for the boat. If your trip is at a flat rate and fuel costs exceed $5.30 per gallon, an additional $200 will be added to the charter price.

Dana will contact you the day before your trip to confirm the time and meeting place.

Fishing License:

All anglers must obtain either a resident or non-resident fishing license. Visit http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov for more information on the 3-day charter pass (saltwater). If you already have a resident fishing license, an additional 3-day charter pass is not required. Children aged 17 and under are exempt from needing a fishing license.

Essential Items for a Fishing Trip:

  • Sea-sickness medication (recommended if you are prone to seasickness or uncertain of your susceptibility)
  • Sunglasses
  • Zip-top bags and an ice chest for transporting your catch
  • Personal food and beverages for the duration of the trip
  • Appropriate boat shoes
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Rain gear
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent
  • Please note: Crocs and bare feet are strictly prohibited aboard the vessel.

If you have children 16 and under in your party, they will have to wear a life jacket while underway on the boat. REO provides various sizes, but if you have a properly fitting life jacket for your child, please bring it.

ALCOHOL & ILLEGAL DRUG POLICY: Hard liquor and illegal drugs are strictly forbidden on board, with no exceptions. While customers are allowed to bring beer, excessive drinking or unruly conduct is not permitted. If the captain determines that someone has consumed too much alcohol, they may limit that individual’s drinking. The captain also reserves the right to end the fishing trip at any time—and without a refund—if anyone becomes drunk or disruptive. Additionally, anyone arriving at the dock intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances will not be allowed to board REO vessels and will lose the cost of their trip. We expect and appreciate full cooperation from every REO customer.

WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY CLAIMS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

All participants in the fishing party hereby agree to release and hold harmless River End Outfitters and its associates, whether individually or collectively, from any liability for accidents, injuries, or illnesses incurred during the course of the fishing charter or while on the loading dock.
